Common Things That Will Prevent You From Losing Weight #23

Giving In To Peer Pressure

A partner for weekend runs in the park, someone to drag you to that spin class after work—friends can be a fantastic influence on your exercise habits. But they can be diet underminers too. Many reported being pressured to eat "non-diet" foods by colleagues, friends, and family.

And the social dangers to your derriere don't stop there. We may become "copycat" eaters when we are in groups. Rather than eating at our own personal pace, we tend to mirror each other bite for bite until a light lunch becomes a Dionysian feast.

So if you're on a weight-loss mission, try dining out with your "eats like a bird" friend for a while. When she puts her fork down after a few bites, you'll be more likely to quit as well.
